We are pleased with our new Philips combo DVD. It does all that we expected. DVD playback is perfect. NO skipping. We have yet to burn any disks from VCR tapes though. I don't doubt there will be any problem archiving home movies.
I like the HDMI connection and the picture on my TV. Great one-touch VHS to DVD transfer feature. Easy to use and a value at the price I paid.
