The Sony Slv-d370p distinguishes itself from the rest with superior sound and picture quality, coupled with its ease of use. Sony is well-known for high quality playback, and this product is no exception. The picture is vivid and clear, both on DVD's and VHS tapes. We also liked how easy it was to record from both TV signals and VHS tapes to DVD's. It literally took about 20 seconds to set up each time. You won’t find such a high quality combo player/recorder for less, and you won’t be disappointed with the Sony Slv-d370’s performance.

After reading other reviews, I decided on the Sony (for reputation of quality) This was a brand new unit. (I would not reccomend buying a refurbished unit, it is not worth the small savings) Picture quality on both the DVD and VCR are great....
