Blu-ray Players Will Soon Be Less than $100
Remember when Blu-ray players cost $200? That's what we will be saying this Christmas when the new crop of Chinese made players hit the market. Don't be surprised to find Blu-ray players for $99 dollars this holiday season. It really wasn't that long ago that $400 for a Blu-ray player was considered a bargain. Of course we knew that prices would eventually come down to where I could actually afford one, but no one knew it would happen so quickly. Until now, the only names in the business were big brands like Sony, Pioneer, Panasonic, and Samsung among others. Now the big names will have to deal with the likes of Haier, HighSense, and Asustek all of whom will be offering budget players (probably).
Now we need to wait for the next greatest thing in video. DVDs had a good 10 year run or so. Do I dare speculate that we will be watching movies stored on a flash drive in 10 years? Or better yet, it'll be beamed directly to our brains. Probably.
