The Samsung Bd-p1200 is nothing short of a Blu-ray miracle. It is a solid Blu-ray player with variable video upconversion, multiple outputs including HDMI, Digital Optical and A/V Composite and S-Video, and it includes an Ethernet port for downloading upgrades. Like all Blu-ray players the Samsung Bd-p1200 supports many media discs including all forms Blu-ray disc, DVD, DVDR, DVD RW, CD, CD-R and CD-RW. It does not have WMA or Divx support.

Users and critics agree that the Samsung Bd-p1200 has excellent upconverting capabilities and all standard DVDs tested on the machine looked wonderful. Some common criticisms include the machine’s sensitivity to dirty or scratched discs and sometimes glitchy load times. Many were also disappointed that the Bd-p1200 does not include high definition audio support through Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master.
