Warner Bros. Trades Blu-ray Discs for Your DVDs

A lot of people are still debating about moving from DVD to Blu-ray. We’re not necessarily recommending the transition, but if you’ve already decided to go Blu-ray then Warner Bros. has a good way for you to save some money.

A Warner Bros. site called DVD2BLU explains the company’s new exchange program that lets you send in DVDs for a discount on the same title in Blu-ray format. Here’s how it works: Send in your disc, then pay anywhere from $8 to $10, plus $5 for shipping, and receive the same movie on a Blu-ray disc in the mail 4 to 5 weeks later. If your trade-in order is more than $25 dollars, you get free shipping. That’s not a bad way to convert your DVD library to Blu-ray, and it’s certainly cheaper than buying your favorite movies again.

There is a catch (there is ALWAYS a catch). You can only trade in movies distributed by Warner Bros., and only titles from the list of 55 below. Still, if you really wanted the Blu-ray of Elf for your Christmas party, then now’s your chance.
